Kyalami Festival 
The first one will always be the start, the foundation for the years to follow and I am happy with what the team put together. We started the festival on Wednesday with Night Golf, Thursday during the day was a betterball competition and in the evening we hosted a night run with over 170 runners enjoying our beautiful facilities. On Friday we played a fourball alliance competition and in the evening we enjoyed a quiz night. The main event was on Saturday, the Inaugural Member Member competition.   
Congratulations to our first winning partnership, John Hazakis and Keith Ball, accumulating 83 points in a modified betterball format, beating the runners up by 12 points. What a partnership! Sunday closed off with a Mixed Open and we look forward to more support from the members for next years Kyalami Festival. 

The second Four Nations Cup was played at Moonah Links. Kyalami Country Club will forever be remembered as the first host of the event, a very special team event of 4 players representing their National PGA’s.
Greg Bentley had the honour to represent the PGA of South Africa at the Four Nations Cup in Australia. Kyalami Country Club had to honour of being represented by Greg and our boys did us proud. 
Team South Africa was leading going into the final round, unfortunately they were pipped by Australia and New Zealand on the final day. I understand that our team is disappointed, however to represent South Africa in Australia must have been a dream come true and we are all extremely proud of you Greg.  Congratulations.

Europe Europe Europe!!!
What a weekend it was! I looked forward to the Ryder Cup for months and in my opinion, this was one of the best that I can remember. Before the event the media did not give the European team any chance of even being a factor.  Most said that this year is a write off for the Europeans and they must build towards 2025 to be competitive. How wrong they were!
The European fans in my opinion played such a pivotal role in the outcome, coupled with great captaincy from Luke Donald. Luke will go down as one of the best, and Zach will be forgotten. The players played phenomenal golf, as a team. I was always hopeful for the European team, they have the passion and desire that was needed. I am calling it early, 2025 will have another victorious European team on US soil.

Water Update
At the beginning of September a water levy of R20 per round was introduced. The total income from this levy was R65000 for the month and I would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding.  
Kelvin Power Station installed a water meter on 8 September. To date we have not received a contract from them or an indication of how much the club will be charged.  We have opened the water line to do tests and evaluate how much water we are getting from the line. With the current water pressure we are receiving 40 000L per hour, roughly 1 million litres in a 24 hour period. For the month of September we have used 4.8 Million Litres only, whilst not affecting our irrigating of the golf course. The effect of not having a constant inflow of water is something we are learning about as the water becomes stagnant and algae starts to grow. We have been blessed in the past with what we had, now we monitor it daily and keep pushing the limits as we plan to be financially efficient. You would have noticed the 17th dam level dropping daily. This dam is our main irrigation dam. We pump roughly 1 million litres per day out of this dam onto the golf course and when we do not pump it out onto the course, we pump it back to the dam on the 3rd hole to ensure that the water keeps on circulating. Our aim is to have the dam level low for when the rains arrive, so please bear with us during this period. 
Finance
We will be sending out the membership letter and subs for 2024 towards the end of October. We look forward to your continued support as the club grows and steadily gets stronger.

Our inaugural Member-Member tournament has been played, congratulations to John Hazakis and Keith Ball who were our first champions! This tournament will have a permanent spot on our fixture list and we hope to grow it from strength to strength!
This Saturday is the Woolfie Kezurer Commemorative trophy. Woolfie was pivotal in the success of Kyalami and guided the club through many hardships and those lucky enough to have known him speak of his incredible nature and I think it’s safe to say that Kyalami is where it is because of people like Woolfie.

The Ladies Captains tour was hosted this past month, 20 ladies went to Dullstroom to play Highland Gate. The ladies were all super excited for this tour and had a great comradery. A nice way to end the year off!

Hello and greetings to all, we are officially in summer judging by the warm weather we are experiencing and we have had our first bit of rain, only 13mm but we will take wat we can get at this stage. The rain will be welcomed and the course will appreciate it.
Just with the 13mm of rain we had it has shown a difference. We can expect our first proper rainfall later this month. It is said that we can expect a dry season this year lets hope not. 
We have completed our spring treatment on the fairways and have also reshaped a lot of them and also some of the areas around the greens has also been reshaped.
The new tee marker boards are being put out on the tee boxes and are very stylish and adds a touch of class to Kyalami , not that we were lacking that.
