From the Shed > Greetings to all, I trust all is well and that everybody had a splendid easter and to those who went away I am sure you are well rested and ready to face the 2nd half of 2022 with Glee.
It has been an exceptionally abrupt cold start to the winter with unexpected rainfall for so late in the season. This will however have no effect on the course. We have had a very colourful autumn and to be expected for this time of the year.
We have begun with our winter projects and have completed the 17th pathway project already. Once again Wilson and his team have done a sterling job and it really does add more value the course. With winter nipping at our heels we can expect to have some cold mornings with frost and this will affect our mowing regime and with out a doubt the question of “have the greens been cut today”.
We cut the greens in the afternoon behind the field as there is very little growth and is merely a clean up cut. Cutting the greens in the morning with the frost will damage the grass and an effective cut will not be achieved.
Thank you to the members for your support and is always appreciated meeting you and chatting to you on the course. Look forward to seeing you on the Fairways (the long and closely mown area between the tee and the green)
Keep on smiling and make the most of it.
