Dear Members,
June has been a good month at the club. Compared to May the club was busy in June and it was a successful month. Two highlights in June include the opening of Padel Vibe at the club and the Bentley fundraiser.
Before I discuss the good, I need to address a growing concern.
Unfortunately, we have members that are using their spending account as a credit facility, and this is not allowed. We have sent email statements, sent SMS’s and in some cases called the members, however our requests to settle the accounts are being ignored. Members owing monies on their spending accounts put strain on our cashflow, create extra admin and unnecessary time is being spent on collecting money owed to the club.
For this reason, starting 15 July 2023, if a member’s spending account is in a debit we will freeze the account until the amount owing is settled. I urge every member to take responsibility of their spending account to ensure that you have a good experience at the club. You are able to view your account balance on the MyHomeClub app, the Clubmaster app or calling the admin office. Your balance also reflects on your receipts at the club and you can also top up your account at any of the point of sales at the club. I trust that we can resolve this matter before we run into avoidable situations. 
If you owe money on your club account (subs) please communicate with Carla. Again, it is your responsibility to ensure that you remain in good standing with the club.  admin@kyalamigolf.co.za  

Hi All.
Words cannot express the magnificence of the golf day held in support of the Bentley family on Friday.
In all my years at Kyalami, I have never been touched with such pride, satisfaction and level of commitment shown to make this a memorable day in the club's history.
The organising team of Fred, Tex, Sam, Sue, Ashley and Monique really went beyond the call of duty and put in a huge amount of effort and time. You are truly commended for this, and your gigantic efforts are truly appreciated.
The entire Kyalami team also needs to be congratulated. The service levels of the waiters, food servers and barman was top class. The training that has been done, to ensure this level of service is definitely showing. The food was great as well.
To Kyle, Keagan and Crystal, huge thanks to you guys for also going the extra mile.
NPC are to also be thanked and commended for their contribution to this day.
To Thinus and your entire team, you can all be extremely proud of what was achieved on Friday. Thanks guys.
The day touched the hearts of many individuals, and the compliments just kept on pouring in. All our wishes are that the Bentley family get through this difficult time, and we wish them well and good health going forward.
This was a day to remember and once again thanks to everyone that made it possible and so so special.

The Bentley family fundraiser day was a HUGE success. There are so many people to thank, we will do a separate newsletter to thank everyone and to discuss the event in more detail, however I can tell you that the support came from across South Africa.
I was pleasantly surprised by the support received from so many different walks of life.  I am sure that this brought the club closer together and I saw that together we will all make this club as strong as it once was. The goal was to raise as much money as possible and this was achieved.  The team is busy with the recon of the event and the numbers look amazing, more details to follow as discussed. 

We have done a full month of trade at Padel and the numbers are currently on par with what we predicted. This is great news considering it opened in Winter and the word that we have Padel is starting to spread. Momentum is certainly building and I could not be happier with the addition to the club.  
Progress, growth and support of initiatives like this will secure the future of the club. The additional revenue stream is welcomed and needed.
Please show your support to the club and Tex by using the facilities and promoting it to your friends and family.

Winter has arrived and the grass is going dormant which is typical of lower temperatures. With less growth the course is starting to play firmer and faster, I think most players enjoy it. Currently, the greens are brilliant, due to less stress from the heat of summer.  Unfortunately, our tees are stressing due to the lack of growth. The fairways and bunkers are still in very good condition. I had the pleasure of playing here recently with Stuart McLean who heads up the Top 100 courses of South Africa, https://satop100courses.com/ Stuart was very complimentary about the condition, layout and he mentioned that he can not wait to play here again soon.  
There are various projects on the way and I must commend the Golf Data team for their continued hard work on the golf course. They have a very long list of projects and everything will be dealt with over time.

Hello all, I hope that the winter so far has been pleasant for you so far? The course has most certainly been greener for a longer time than in the last few years. Thanks due to the late rains the water table has been quite high and the grass has benefited from this. Also very late frosts have kept the fairways from going off like they usually do.
We have begun our winter projects and the first bit of paving was done at the 16th for the ladies tee, it was long overdue and I am sure that the ladies are going to benefit from the new pathway. The gravel at the exits to the pathways has been a success and will do more path exits in the future.
The course in winter will of course have its challenges, the bunkers always become a problem and we have to pay special attention to them by watering them on a weekly basis to prevent them from drying out. The greens will be quite quick and will be at there best now.

Our next Major, The President’s Cup kicks off July and with the predictions for chilly weather it might be a good idea to pack an extra layer and a beanie.
The next round of the knockouts are upon us and this round is due to be played by Sunday, any games not played will be decided by coin toss.
